During this seasons New York Fashion Week, Brooklyn Industries unveiled the first limited edition handbag in a series of seasonal signature handbag releases. The Spring 2012, Special Edition CRASH Bag made its debut during the brands fashion presentation, allowing customers and selected media outlets access to the handbag prior to its official in store launch on Monday.
Made in Brooklyn, NY, this hand painted custom bag was designed to directly reflect the themes present in J.G. Ballard’s 1979 novel, Crash. At its most basic level, the bag resembles the twisted metal remnants of a highway crash. The collision of humanity and technology, the effects of modernity, fused with elements of eroticism are represented by the combination of high end materials and heavy-duty industrial fabric used to create the bag. The artistic craftsmanship of the leather details are layered on top of the hand painted industrial linen to create a bag rooted in a Pop concept.
The CRASH Bag is part of Brooklyn Industries Signature collection for Spring 2012, designed and manufactured in Brooklyn, NY in a limited run.
The CRASH Bag is available online at BrooklynIndustries.com and in Brooklyn Industries retail locations nationwide.
