New York Restoration Project (NYRP) invites New Yorkers to celebrate the value of family and the incredible opportunity nature provides for fun time together at New York Restoration Project’s 5th Annual Family Day at Swindler Cove Park, a five-acre park along the Harlem River. From art activities with MoMA to hands-on hikes, NYRP welcomes NYC families to engage in all things
nature. Environmental educators will lead families in a variety of activities centered on family, nature and health, including gardening demonstrations, animal shows, games and ways families can be green, together.
Nestled in Upper Manhattan, Swindler Cove Park represents the crown jewel of NYRP’s public park projects, encompassing five beautifully reclaimed acres along the Harlem River – including the Peter Jay Sharp Boathouse and Riley-Levin Children’s Garden. An oasis of native natural habitats, Swindler Cove features an urban forest, the only saltwater marsh on the island of Manhattan’s shoreline and an abundance of wildlife to explore and experience along the Harlem Riverfront.
