I’m sure we all feel the same when we see celebrities get back their pre-baby bodies in no time, or sometimes they look in even better shape – it’s like, how did they do it?!
This one British mom, who has three children, was determined to get rid of the infamous pouch that appears after birth. In search of the answer, she came across a device called the Hypoxi vacusuit, which is basically a sealed compression chamber that contains a horizontal or vertical bike.
How it works is by creating a vacuum while you work out, which, if the results are to be believed, sucks the fat from your body.
We’ve all heard of these “fat-sucking” machines before, but do they really work?
After signing up for 12 sessions, the woman’s personal Hypoxi expert, Lucy, held up a cross between a wetsuit and a corset-style bodice and explains she’ll be wearing this while she pedals away horizontally for 30 minutes inside the compression chamber.
Honestly, that sounds torturous.
What the Hypoxi does while you ride is use the vacuum therapy to draw fatty acids from your stomach, thighs, bum and hips to ensure you’re burning calories from those parts of the body before anywhere else.
There won’t be a drastic change in the scale, but there will be a difference in inches around your body. A woman can lose up to one or two dress sizes during a 12-week course – and the results are said to be permanent!
Lucy explains the diet rules: no alcohol on days you work out, and after that only in moderation; no carbohydrates for four hours after a work out; drinking two or three litres of water every day; and no food after 7pm.
And guess what, it’s not even rigorous exercise! All that you need to do is petal at a rate that keeps you at 130 heartbeats/minute, which means you should be able to carry on a conversation without a problem.
Not seeing a big difference in her physique, the woman continues her sessions still with determination. By the sixth session, Lucy measured her waist and thighs, resulting in the loss of one inch, plus another inch off her hips – AND four pounds. This is only after two weeks.
These results kept the woman motivated to continue her sessions, and possibly continue working out at the gym after her sessions finish. However, this is a pricey way to lose weight, so making this a habit probably wouldn’t be likely.
The overall inches the woman lost was 10 inches from her waist down to her thighs. And her post-pregnancy pouch has shrunk as well.
